Quick Spice Party Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting


For the Spice Cake

  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Frosting

  • 1 packet cream cheese
  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • salt to taste


Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease GoodCook baking pan. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, and brown sugar until completely combined. To the wet ingredients, add applesauce, buttermilk, and vanilla and mix together. Combine wet and dry ingredients and mix until just barely combined. Pour batter into greased GoodCook pan and bake 35-40 minutes.

For the frosting: Beat together cream cheese and softened butter until well combined. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt (if desired). Whip together until fluffy.

Frost cooled cake with frosting, and top with your favorite sprinkles.
