Coming in with just 8 fresh ingredients, made in 20 minutes or less, Sweet Basil Chicken Lettuce Wraps are about to become your new favorite.
Created to pair with our 2-Ingredient Firecracker Shrimp and Cucumber Sushi Rolls (check back tomorrow for the recipe!), this quick dish is ideal for Asian inspired menus. Instead of calling for take-out, you can make these lettuce wraps in under 20. Just brown 1 pound of chicken in large skillet (it goes even quicker with our High-Temp Meat Chopper), toss together a simple mango-avocado-basil salsa and drizzle on lime ponzu.
The final dish is a mouthful of flavor. Salty, sweet, savory, so good. This dish doesn’t have much to it, but everything in it makes for a perfect combo.

Sweet Basil Chicken Lettuce Wraps
Chicken topped with mango, avocado and sweet basil salsa. Served in a lettuce wrap. This quick, simple recipe makes an ideal light dinner or appetizer. Look in the Asian section of the grocery store for ponzu sauce, it can almost always be found near the soy sauce.
- 1 tablespoons sesame or olive oil
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 1 head Bibb lettuce
- 1 avocado, peeled and diced
- 1 mango, peeled and diced
- 1/3 cup loosely packed, fresh basil, chopped
- 1 lime, freshly squeezed
- 1/4 cup ponzu
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown chicken and garlic until cooked through. Toss together avocado, mango, basil and lime juice. Serve hot chicken in lettuce cups, top with basil salsa. Drizzle with ponzu and enjoy.
