One-Bowl Chocolate Cake

One-Bowl Chocolate Cake with a Simple Chocolate Icing

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 6 Tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 Tablespoon vinegar
  • 2 cups cold water

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9x13 pan with cooking spray. Whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Pour in melted butter, vanilla, vinegar, and water Mix only until blended. Batter will be thin. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. While the cake is still hot, heat cocoa, butter, and milk in a small saucepan until melted. Stir in vanilla. Pour into a bowl and mix in powdered sugar until combined. Spread evenly over cake and cover generously with sprinkles. Let cool to room temperature.
