Perfect NY Style Pizza

NY Style Pizza

Serves 8 | 40 minutes total

  • 4 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 packet yeast
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 3/4 cups very warm water
  • 15 oz fireroasted crushed tomatoes
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 12 oz mozzarella, sliced
  • 1/3 cup loosely packed basil, finely chopped

Heat oven to 450ºF.

In a large bowl, stir together flour, salt, sugar and yeast. Add olive oil and warm water, stir until and knead until a soft ball of dough forms. If needed, add a few more tablespoons of flour, to ensure the dough is soft but not sticky. Roll out with a rolling pin until very thin, spread on a large Good Cook Pizza Pan or Pizza Stone.

Top with tomatoes, garlic, salt and pepper, then slices of mozzarella.

Bake 18-24 minutes, or just until edges of crust brown and cheese is bubbly. Garnish with basil, serve and enjoy.
