Donut Ice Cream Burgers

Preparation 30 Serves 4     adjust servings

Ice cream sandwiches with a twist. Cake donuts make these no-bake treats extra sweet.


  • 4 cake donuts (or 8 mini donuts), chocolate or vanilla
  • 1 pint vanilla ice cream, slightly softened
  • 3/4 cup sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup milk or semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3 tablespoons butter


Slice donuts through the center with a sharp knife. Top one half of donut with a large scoop of ice cream. Press the second donut half on top. Roll the edges of the donut in sprinkles. Place in freezer for 1-2 hours. In a medium microwave-safe mixing bowl, heat chocolate chips and butter together for 60-90 seconds, or until melted. Stir together until smooth. Spread on top of donuts. Return donuts to the freezer for 1 hour more. Serve and enjoy, or wrap donuts in plastic wrap or parchment and enjoy within 1 week.
