  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 10 Tbsp butter, softened
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Heat oven to 450ºF. In a large bowl, stir together cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Add butter to the mix, work into flour mixture with a pastry cutter or fork, until small crumbs form. Add buttermilk to the flour mixture, stir just until a soft dough forms. Turn out onto a parchment-lined workspace. Knead several times, until dough is smooth. Press to 1” thick. With the Good Cook 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter, cut dough into 8 rounds. Transfer rounds onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Press a paper straw into the center of each biscuit. Leave straws in place for baking. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or just until donut set. Allow to cool slightly. Stir together icing ingredients, whisk until smooth. Dip or drizzle donuts with icing, decorate with sprinkles.
